Padded Cells For Everyone!!!

So its been awhile since I have posted anything I know. But I have joined a very exclusive club as of late...

Well at least it seems that way anyhow. Its been one thing after another I swear.  First of all my son is now officially in the military. I am so proud of him but its slowly driving me mad. I am still trying to deal with the OMG's and What Ifs of the whole thing. Its enough to drive me....

Then I had a stay in the hospital(no no no, not for the criminally insane, not yet, lol). I thought I was having a heart attack and after almost every test and poke and prod possible it turns out that I was overdosing myself on thyroid meds(I am such a dumb ass sometimes) to the point that it was messing with my ticker...but hey, my little heart is just fine...with the help of beta blockers right now until all the meds leave my system which could take up to six weeks then I can come off those too. Turns out that after an 80 lb weight loss you really should get the meds adjusted to your new size..heehee. So to drive me down the road of chaos a little further...

Our house bunny, Stewie, of 12yrs + had a bad siezure and now only has the use of one front leg. He has had a few siezures before but he came out of them fine and even now he "seems" to not be in any kind of pain. I have been agonizing over whether to end his life or not. Who  am I to do so anyhow? I've been wondering what to do over a week now and finally took it to the Gods/Goddesses and Spirit realm for guidance this morning through meditation and the Spirit board. After lighting a candle and creating sacred space and with pendulm in hand I asked a few yes/no questions which I got RESOUNDING yes and no answers too. After stating a brief outline of why I needed their assistance I asked the first question:

Is it ok with the universe to take the life of a newly disabled pet and friend of so many years to ease any discomfort and pain he may be in?

Answer: A forceful swing indicating NO (almost seemed angry)

Should I let Nature take its course?

Answer:  A wild swing indicating YES. (kinda scared me a little)

Is he in pain even though he doesn't seem to be?

Answer: A swing indicating NO.

So I accepted the answers that were given me and thanked Diety and the Spirits for thier much needed guidance and as I sat there with hands and pendulum still over the board presuming the session over I thought to myself " I hope I have the strength needed to care for him while he is like this for the rest of his days. I looked down and saw the pendulum swinging to indicate YES. It was in that moment that I TOTALLY excepted the answers given and then a calm just washed over me like a weight was lifted and now I know it will be ok for our Stewie. It still added to my crazy happennings though.

Then, to add to the....wait for it....

                                                             BAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!
                                                                            (I love that)

I had to go to the herb store and at the check out counter the cashier whips out a picture of a potato chip she found when she opened the bag. She said it had a picture of Jesus on it and that it was a divine message sent to her from god. For the life of me I couldn't see Jesus at all in the baked potato chip(it was just making me really hungry) but I smiled and nodded and said " oh yeah now I see it" all enthusiastic about it which made her happy. She wanted, no insisted that I take it and that it would be a collectors item one day. I shit you not she actually said that. I looked around cuz I honestly thought maybe I was getting Punked or something. I told her that she needed to keep it because it has definite meaning in her life and hers alone and how wonderful that is. She agreed. WOW. She was sweet though and hey what do I know it probably really does have specific meaning for her and thats wonderful!

After the last month I just had I hope sister checkout girl wasn't trying to one up me in the nutty crazy department cuz I'll have you know I just got a certificate for that month long looney class...see.... LMFAO

Cheap Ass DIY Compost Bin - Priceless!

Since I love my Mother Earth and all that she provides I have decided to make a new compost bin to honor her and give back to her in a way that doesn‘t include pesticides for a rich and healthy garden. She takes care of us, we need to take care of her. Since I am the queen of cheap and/or free this compost bin is just what I have been looking for and the directions are simple too. Yayyy! I thought because I am all stoked about it you all might like it too, but then again, I am a SLOWLY(lol) aging hippie and a smooth BM and the smoke of my sis-in-laws Scooby Snack in the morning sunlight gets me stoked too! LOL

ANYWAY…before we begin….

REASONS TO COMPOST

The soil that you get from the compost is great for your lawn, excellent for your garden and beneficial to your flower beds.

It is basically free to make which beats paying the price the stores want for it.

You can put food and yard waste into the compost bin instead of sending it to the landfill.

Compost soil is a natural fertilizer and is safe for the environment and reduces the need for chemical fertilizers.

If you have kids it’s a great way to get them involved with Earth conservation right at home. Trust me, it can become some pretty gross fun for them, lol.

THINGS THAT CAN BE COMPOSTED:

Fruits and veggies

Grass clippings

Shredded newspapers

Egg shells and nut shells

Leaves

Coffee grounds and filters

Ashes from the fireplace or fire pit

THINGS TO NOT PUT IN THE COMPOST BIN:

Yard clippings that have been chemically treated

Pet waste

Diseased plants (like leaves from veggie plants that have fungus on them because the disease can spread through the compost)

Meat or fish bones

Cheap Ass DIY Compost Bin - Priceless!

Costs about $20.00 to make. Yah I know!

Materials:

Large trash can with a lid that locks

A Platform of some sort. A good choice for this is a wooden houseplant stand with wheels

Screws to attach the platform to the trash can

A drill with a large drill bit

DIRECTIONS:

1) Take the drill and drill holes along the sides and around the trash can. Also drill holes through the trash can lid and the bottom of the can. About 20 - 25 holes all over is good.

2) Using your drill again, attach the platform to the bottom of the trash can. Try not to cover up the holes on the bottom of the can that you just made but if you have to that’s ok just drill a few more holes after you have attached the platform.

*The platform helps with drainage and keeps the grass from turning yellow underneath because you can move the can from spot to spot.

3) Collect some or all of the items on the approved list and start composting!

4) Every couple of days or so go out and put the can on it’s side and roll it around for a few minutes.

5) Keep adding items to the can as you use them

6) When you see it become a *dark rich soil-type texture it is then ready for use. Basically when you can’t tell what anything resembles anymore, lol.

*This may take a while to achieve as Mom Nature has her own relaxed way of doing things, but that’s ok because everything she produces is always worth the wait!

A COUPLE OF TIPS:

Keep the can away from open windows and door in the summer. It can get kinda stinky…PU, lol

Always keep the lid on the can because its heat that generates the decomposition process and really keeps the smell down too!

Using a trash can with a tight fitting/locking lid will help keep animals from trying to get into it.

If you want…Add Worms! Worms help with decomposition and make great compost. Red worms are the best its said but any will do. Mother Nature supplies those for free too, just go outside after a rainstorm and collect the off of the sidewalks and driveways ..a handful to start should be plenty.

If you are going to use worms make sure to give them plenty of really wet newspaper to live in and break down they love that.

BE PATIENT! Lol

WONDERFULLY WYCKKED

EARTH DAY BABY

With Earth Day just around the corner, April 22 to be exact, there are so many ways in which we would like to contribute on a grand scale but so many reasons we may not be able to whether it be time, money, distance, etc. I have found some really easy ways to save Mum Earth by just doing a few things around the house. If everybody everywhere could do just a few of the things on this list routinely can you imagine the enormously positive effect they would have on our Earthly home? I am an old school hippie and personally think Earth Day should be celebrated as Earth Awareness Month, if not year, lol.

So with that being said have a great Earth Day and enjoy the ideas. Love, Peace and Chicken Grease! Far Out Man!

Simple Ways To Save Energy

As the days get hotter, close curtains to block out the sun and stop it from heating up your home.

Replace ordinary light bulbs with energy saving bulbs that use a quarter of the electricity to produce the same amount of light.

Pull the plug - Your mobile only takes a couple of hours to charge, so don't leave it plugged in overnight.
Give your computer a good night's rest too, and you'll save money and CO2.

The screensaver on your computer uses the same amount of power as when it's on and being used. Switch your PC off if you're going to be away for a while.

Turn your heating down before bedtime saves energy, and once you're tucked in you'll never notice the difference.

Drive off as soon as you start your car's engine. Modern engines don't need much time to warm up, so idling creates unnecessary pollution and mechanical wear.

Simple Ways to Save Water

Every flush counts - An estimated 30% of household water usage is flushed down the toilet. If your toilet is more than 30 years old, upgrading to a low-consumption toilet can save you up to 4 gallons per flush.

Use barrels to capture rain from your eaves trough and save it for the next time you have to water your garden or lawn.

Keep a cover on your swimming pool when it's not in use. This will decrease water loss due to evaporation by 90%.

You'll use a lot less water if you only run your laundry or dishwasher with a full load. Running two half loads uses twice as much water.

Use water you've boiled your veggies in to make stocks, soups or, pour it on your garden when it's cooled.

If you're running the bath or shower waiting for the water to heat up, put a large bucket under to catch the water. Use this water for plants, pets, cleaning etc.

Get into the habit of turning the tap off when washing your face, brushing your teeth or shaving, and only have it on when necessary. Water running when it's not in direct use is needlessly soaking up your money.

See for yourself - Conduct a household water audit to help identify areas that you can cut water usage.

Half the time we're in the shower is spent avoiding the water while we soap up - so switch off while you lather for big water and energy savings.

Cool it - Keep some water in the fridge for an instant refreshing ice cold glass of water. No need to run the tap.

The silent seeper - A leaky toilet may go unnoticed, as will the extra cash absorbed by your water bill. To check for leaks, add enough food coloring to your toilet tank to really brighten the water. After 30 minutes look to see if any of the dye has leaked into the bowl.

Simple Ways To Reduce Waste

                                                          (Minnie Hippies Rock!)

Think before you print - Do you really need a hard copy? Use both sides of the paper if you do and add a 'think before you print' footer to your emails

Donate your old furniture to a local furniture recycler. They’ll turn your unwanted pieces into something covetable, saving it from the landfill.

If you're planning to do some spring cleaning, hold a yard sale or donate old items to a second hand shop. You'll be surprised how valuable your junk is to someone else.

Mow your lawn when it's dry, and leave the clippings lying on the grass to break down and feed the lawn underneath.

If you have a water cooler at work, use a glass to fill up instead of using paper or plastic cups from the dispenser.

Go vintage! - Check out some local used clothing stores to find vintage fashions. it's a great way to recycle, cuts out carbon emissions made by making new clothes and it's unique!

Crafty wrapping - Use up scraps of material from curtains, dressmaking or unwanted clothes to make beautiful personalized gift bags. Your gifts will look unique and you'll save bags of cash

Ice wine - Rather than throwing away leftover wine, pour it into an ice cube tray and store in the freezer until the next time you need to cook with wine. That way you won't waste a drop!

Instead of buying little plastic packets of herbs, grow your own - if you don't have a garden, even a pot or window box will do.

Bulk up - Buying non-perishable items in bulk is a great way of cutting down on unnecessary packaging.

WONDERFULLY WYCKKED

The Magic Carpet is Out of the Shop and Boy Can This Baby Fly!

Man, my magic carpet has now been turbo charged and flying me on a whirling, twirling ride of new endeavors, crafting and yet more spiritual path/soul searching enlightenment interests. During my wyckkedly unexpected hiatus it seems as though I have been moving non-stop on a day to day basis. It’s about freakin’ time too. I absolutely detest getting stuck in a I-Am-So-Fucking-Bored rut, so this is definitely welcomed change.

On the most recent stop which my magic carpet - Hodji - I will call him( after a character on a favorite cartoon I liked as a kid - Johnny Quest - now you all know I am ancient, lol) took me was to a women’s expo at a near by city to see my good friend Inis who was set up there doing her spiritual readings for the ladies. I have never been to a women’s expo before and it was a big event, a lot bigger than I expected and a lot more fun than I expected. I amazingly found myself asking people who were representing various organizations what they were about and how to get involved! Now this is so out of character for me because I was brought up in a family where the kids were always told that “children were meant to be seen and not heard” so I quickly became a shy wallflower who didn’t speak unless spoken to and that carried over into my young adult life socially until I became a Momma Bear and most of that way of thinking changed, mostly, I usually am still pretty shy in social settings but for whatever reason at the Expo I wasn’t and My Good Goddess did that feel empowering! I must say I am quite impressed with me, lol, go Girl Powah!

Anyway, I have to give Inis her due here, for if it wasn’t for her I probably wouldn’t even have gone in the first place. I have to say I am sooo proud of her. Seeing her perform her spiritual readings I can see that she is really in her element. This is her home or calling, so to speak. I wanted to take a pictures of her doing her thing but wasn’t sure if I should. That girl’s upper chakra’s were working overtime for sure cuz she was non-stop busy with clients! All I can say is Rock On Inis, Rock On.

Hodji also flew me to the wyckked Land of Crafting, a beautiful place of enchantment that I can so easily get lost in and usually do when I visit, lol. Crafting for me is like opening a big yummy bag of Creativity Chips, nobody can make just one, lol at least I can’t I just keep crafting and crafting and…. Right now my house is one big craft room it seems. Inis fell instantly in love with some of it and took a bunch off my hands for her business, thanks chickie! But that hasn’t stopped the craft monster in me it has only fueled the fire I think, lol. Here is a few pictures of some of my goodies:

My trusty turbo-charged Hodji has also been carrying me along the steep and far reaching Spiritual Highway of Enlightenment and down the long and winding Soul Searching Rd.

The Highway of Spiritual Enlightenment for me has many branches off of it and has been diversely and culturally fickle along my journey, flitting like a spiritually hungry butterfly from one belief system to another and I have resigned to the glorious fact that it always will be that way for me and thank the Gods and Goddesses for that because I have found and continue to find so much respect and beneficial information from these diverse belief systems that I find myself continuing to incorporate them into my daily pagan practices which have and are definitely molding my life into a constantly rewarding and increasingly better experience as I go along.

Traveling down Soul Searching Road is a little different for me, more like driving down a dirt road, lol, because it takes a lot longer to move down this road and I find that metaphoric Hodji’s metaphoric wheels tend to spin in place in certain areas making me just want to turn back around and forget about the trip altogether. But that is the worst thing I know that I could possibly do so I just have to push myself off Hodji and throw some good quality kitty litter made by the PERSEVERANCE Co. under the tires and spin out of the ruts that have been created and continue on. Will I reach my destination while traveling Soul Searching Road? Who knows? But I do know that every time I go down this particular road it’s gonna get better and better cuz I’m gonna pave that sucker with healing and sail smoothly down it non-stop, some day, soon.

WONDERFULLY WYCKKED

Careful HOW You Wish For, Not WHAT

Well, I went to the casino the a couple of weeks ago to celebrate my sister-in-law’s birthday and let me tell ya we had some great fun! So knowing that we were going ahead of time I did spell work for a few days before for good luck and big money. I was so intent and methodical for three days before the event, sure I had all my bases covered with summoning the appropriate Deities, correspondences, timing, etc. etc. etc. On the drive, all the way there I was so confident that good fortune was coming away. We started playing the slot machines and I was so excited I could just pee, lol. Well just as quickly as I started playing, I started losing…and losing, but my sister-in-law won over $400.00 and pretty much everyone else that went won a little something too, but not me. Needless to say I was really bummed out for myself but really happy for her…truly(she said she was going to buy a swing set for her grandkids, awesome!). So on the drive home I kept going over and over in my mind what could have gone wrong. I thought I did everything needed for a positive outcome. Then it dawned on me…my wording of the spell itself! Instead of being precise about asking for abundance on that particular night at that particular casino on a particular machine or by a particular time or whatever, all I asked for was good luck and fortune to come my way in the future. Pretty vague in asking assistance of the Universe and the Gods and Goddesses of Fortune huh? Well my spell of abundance WAS acknowledged by the Universe and the Gods and Goddesses of Fortune! Just not the way I was thought it was going to happen. February is always a hard month for us with insurances all coming due at the same time and in the days that followed the casino event I noticed that as I went along paying my bills at their appropriate times and I asked the person on the other end of the phone for the balance owed on each bill that four of them were all lower than I expected or what was stated on the invoice. The energy bill was $243.00 less than what was stated - owing only $78.00 for the month! Wow in Michigan, in the winter? This is unheard of, but I am not arguing at all. The other big one was the cell phone bill which was $110.00 less than normal. Once again, Not complaining, just a whole lot of thanks to the powers that be and their generosity! I can’t say it was because I paid the bills ahead of time…ha, yeah right, I am the queen of robbing Peter to pay Paul where the bills are concerned just to stay afloat so I know I didn’t fall and bump my head and do something as stupid as pay the bills ahead of time, no-sir-ee-bob. So the next time you do spell work and wonder why nothing happened, maybe it really did work for you regardless in other ways, just not the way you asked…or didn’t ask, lol.

WONDERFULLY WYCKKED

Yup, that’s right, I said it.. Wyckked. And I’ma gunna spell it like that too, because I can, lol. But for all intent and purposes I will be likening wyckked unto awesome, fabulous and great, mostly. Don’t get me wrong I can be a wyckked witch as much as a sweet witch at any given time. If you don’t believe me just ask my husband, he’ll tell ya, lol. It really takes a lot to get me to the point of doing bad juju though and you would have to do something to me that really makes my blood boil to get it tossed in your direction. I really do try to mind the rule of three and all that, I do really, but what can I say.. I’m human and shit happens. So when I find that I have catered to my dark side once again I will run right after myself and spread good juju in the same direction, mostly. I guess that’s guilt left over from my strict christian upbringing. You know the one that says if you pick your nose you’re a sinner and if you fart crosswise their God will sentence you to an eternity of hellfire and damnation. Whatever, I’ll get over it eventually. Truth be told I kinda like being a little naughty from time to time(insert curly mischievous grin here). Yeah, this is me owning it besides I need that balance in my life or I will feel like a fraud. I honestly can’t be love and light at every waking moment every day but my hat is off to those who can for they are so much stronger than I, that takes discipline, which I don’t possess much of, but hey I am working on it, like entertaining you with my blog. So hop up next to me on my broom and let’s ride(don‘t worry, I got four wheel drive)…. I can’t promise that it will be a smooth ride all the time but it’ll be fun just the same…hopefully, lol.
